100th post! And an art lesson.

And another awesome find. But this one is for me! I found this at, yes, another estate sale. It's a sickness folks.

A gorgeous (seriously the photo does not do it justice) antique needlepoint. It's huge too, about 36"x20". It was $12. Twelve. dollars. (!!!!!) I had thoughts about turning it into a large pillow to go across our bed, but I think I may frame it instead. I really don't want it to get messed up. The sucker is pretty old and who knows where it's been (Maybe it's from France? All the text is in french.)

UDATE: While I was writing this I put the title in google "Le Moulin de Flatford". Turns out it's a needlepoint of this painting by John Constable. Now obviously a french needlepoint as Mr. Constable was English and his work hangs in the Tate Gallery.

"Flatford Mill"
Well done needlepoint artist. The resemblance is uncanny. I was unsure of what that horse was doing but now it's so very clear. Awesome.

Serene Master Design Board

I noticed I haven't posted a design board in a while. I am going to try and stay more on top of posting the boards I put together for clients. Here is one I did recently for a master bedroom.  The bed is pretty much the only thing that they wanted to keep from the existing room so I built around that.

I should also point out that this particular client was an e-design client. I did the design and provided links/info of the products shown and she will implement the design on her own. If any of you are interested in this service, let me know! It's a great way to do interior decorating on your schedule. Shoot me an email hendersondesigns@gmail.com and we can discuss!

On a roll

Man, I have been on fire lately when it comes to awesome finds. These are my latest...

Vintage cane back chairs! They are for a client so I won't spill the price, but I will say...they were a freakin' steal. The seats definitely need a fabulous fabric, but all the cane is intact and the color is beautiful. I'll probably regret not keeping them for myself, but I look at it as decorating karma. Who knows what I'll run into next!

Coziness

It's nearing the end of October and yet the high today is 80. I love living in the South but I wish fall would go ahead and happen already. Next week the highs are in the 60s (woohoo) and I am anxious to break out my favorite sweaters and cardigans. I usually go on a sweater buying binge around this time every year only to find that I keep living in the same one or two the entire winter. So this year I am scaling back and going to invest in something I know I will love. These are on the top of my list....
Rib Collar Jacket
Vince...always a good investment
Honeycomb Cardigan
Vince...again
Joie Seville Cashmere Blend Open Sweater

Score!

Saturday I stopped by a few estate sales and came home with some bangin' loot. The little one's new room may be changing AGAIN because I totally scored a bunch of this awesome vintage chintz fabric (9 yards!) for an awesome price ($3!). I'm thinking drapery.

I also got this brass and glass coffee table for a client. It's pretty fantastic.

sorry for the lame photo...I took this at the sale.
AND I brought home a few things for myself, because what women doesn't love bags and jewelry? I found this pretty white beaded clutch, a pair of vintage Christian Dior earrings, and two vintage brooches. How cute is that turquoise lady bug?? Turns out it is a signed Hattie Carnegie piece! Double score!

It happened! It finally happened!

That sound you just heard was the collective "Hallelujah!" from folks across the U.S. Zara Home has finally taken there store online. The line was only available for purchase in Europe and many times had me wondering if I should just get on a plane with empty suitcases and bring a haul back to the states. Everything is fantastic and so well priced. This, my friends, is a great day. Behold the awesomeness.

While we are on the subject...

of Target, while I was there I picked up some cute booties. I lust after this Isabel Marant version, but $570 on booties isn't exactly workin' for me.

if you want them, here you go!

But $30 does work for me so I scooped them up. The color is great and they are actually really comfy. I ran around after the little one for a few hours in them and no blinding pain...so yay! They come in black too.

On Target

I ran into Target the other day to stock up on necessities (ok, and it's been over a month since I was last there and I was having serious Tar-jay withdrawls) and I wandered into the home section, as I always do, and I was blown away! Hellllooo gorgeous, awesomely priced decor! Get thee over to a Target soon! Great stuff + great prices = goes fast.
