Table Matters

I picked up this Spode dinnerware for a steal while One Kings Lane was having their extra 30% off sale (thankyouverymuch) and now I am dreaming up ways to style it on the table. I love all the mis-matched patterns!

Even though it will go nicely with my existing china (Villeroy & Boch..still love the art deco style of it)

...I also kind of want to get a modern pattern to mix in on the table, like this from Oscar De La Renta...

And how cute are these dessert plates!

Site You Should Visit: Second Shout Out

Ohhhhh man is this place awesome. All found, vintage, and antique furniture, objects, lighting, accessories...the list goes on and on. It's a collectors paradise. I got lost in it for an hour. It's kinda like 1st Dibs, but honestly, who can really afford items on 1st Dibs? Not me. Sure, this place has its share of spendy items as well, but I found it very "regular person" friendly. This site is totally my jam...and it should be yours too.

A couple of faves:

Pining for Pineapples

So what do these pics have in common? If you said lamps, you would be correct! If you said pineapples, you would be even more correct! If 2 years ago you would have told me I would be searching every nook and cranny for a pineapple lamp, I would have said something along the lines of "Pfffffttttt, girl you crazy." And yet here we are. But not any pineapple lamp...I wanted one like this

Pair of Polished Brass Pineapple Table Lamps
Brass Pineapple Lamp pair from 1st Dibs
A brass 1960s pineapple lamp. And since everyone and their mom wants one too, they have skyrocketed in price. Sure, you can get new ones (like this one here or here) but what's the fun in that? Etsy is also a good resource (here and here). So today I visited one of my favorite antique haunts and Boom! There she was.

A Bedroom Situation

Sooooo I'm re-doing my bedroom. Well, just sort of a face-lift. Don't get me wrong, it was fine before, but we just had a major rug make it's way into our lives. This (enormous) beauty once belonged to the hubby's late grandparents and his family was kind enough to let us take care of it and love it and put it in our house. And I do Love. It.

P.S. Sorry for the sad pic. My bed wasn't made and the little one was laying in it watching Tinkerbell.

It's a huge 10x14 hand-hooked wool persian rug that weighs...no lie...about 150 pounds. It has all kinds of fantastic colors in it and I am stoked that I (we) get to have it in our home. But since it now resides in the bedroom, that room has to seriously step up its game. And I have plans. Starting with this pillow in a fabric that I have drooled over for forever.

Ohhhh things are about to get fancy up in here.

It's All Abstract

I have been in an abstract art kind of mood lately. It all started when I saw one of my favorite artists is releasing a limited run of prints from a few of her paintings and I scooped this up faster than you could say "yahtzee!".

"Pier Camp" by Teil Duncan
P.S. You can get this print or the 2 others she is offering for $50 (!!!!!). But only through August.  Her skills are bananas and I am pretty sure an original will end up on my Christmas list, this is if I can snatch one up before it sells out.

Anywho, since I bought this, I have been looking for more abstracts to add to my collection.
A few of my faves on Etsy....

Fall Lust List

Oh man I can feel it. It's alllllllmost here. Admittedly though, here in the South, it doesn't get cool(ish) until mid to end of October. But that's also the great thing about the South. We eek out a few more weeks of fall than then, say, our NY and Minnesota friends who are freezing their asses off by the end of November.

We still have August and September to deal with. Both brutal, humid months. But that doesn't stop me from dreaming of days of leggings and booties and scarves. Here is what's on my Fall wish list.....

Parka   Booties     Waxed leggings    Scarf   Earrings   Pumps   Tunic   Bucket Bag

Maybe one or two things are already headed my way? Guilty.

White and Bright

I came across this photo on Pinterest and it instantly caught my eye. I am all about rooms that are white and bright right now. And all things pink.  So this is a double whammy.
Revamp | change out the pillow and throws on your bed for an instant refresher!

PS. I am dead over those pillows. They are made from a vintage kimono(!).
